The Times Are Changing

“The times, they are a changing.” Surely, this old truism is exactly that, true.  It sure is a comfort in these days to know that our times are in the hand of the LORD. Psalm 31:15  My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.  This verse is a great comfort and promise; it also mentions the hard cold fact of enemies. Do we have enemies? Surely, in this present time, most societies would agree that the terrorists of Islam who will go to the greatest lengths to establish a worldwide Caliphate are our greatest outward,   polititcal , and religious enemy.

The believer’s hope is in the LORD. Psalm 62:8  Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.  For the LORD is in charge of the times. Daniel 2:21  And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: Since He is in charge of our times, many should trust in Him, place their hope and faith in Him.

Have you done that? Are you overcome with fear and doubt as you see many things in society that are rapidly changing for the worst? Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, Solomon said. Jesus is coming soon. Now many may say that that statement has been used for years. It has, and so,  the coming of Jesus is nearer each day that passes. Ephesians 1:10  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: When the fullness of time comes, will you be ready to meet Jesus? Why not trust Him  now?

Acts 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

He will give you security in troubled times. Isaiah 33:6  And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

He will give you some unchanging absolutes in changing times. He will give you and has given the unchanging Word of God, the King James Bible.

Psalm 12:6  The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.  Psalm 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

He also will give you the unchanging absolute of His protection. Psalm 121:8  The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

He  also shall give you the unchanging absolute of eternal life. John 5:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 5:25  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

He also shall give you the unchanging absolute hope of resurrection like He did ancient prophet Job.  Job 14:14  If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

He will also give you His unchanging absolute of His church called in the Scriptures, a bride, a body, and a building. He places or baptizes each individual believer into that group. It is not an entertainment group; it is a group of growth and strength. A muscle is not placed in the arm to run around at will; it is used to move things with strength. The believer is placed into the church to grow strong in order to serve at a greater capacity. Romans 16:25  Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Ephesians 5:32  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

The LORD wants to be your eternal refuge in times of trouble. Will you accept Him today?Psalm 62:8  Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
