GNBC Statement of Faith

Scriptures

For faith and practice, we use only the King James Version of the Bible and reject any version based on the corrupt Alexandrian manuscripts. We believe the King James Version is the inspired inerrant infallible Word of God.

Godhead

We believe in three distinct and equal persons of the Godhead—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are three yet one.

Creation

We believe in the literal six-day creation of the earth by the Trinity. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Big Bang theory, and humanism.

Satan

We believe that there is a literal being called Satan that fell from his state as an archangel, deceived Eve, and continues to accuse and deceive mankind with many other fallen angels who voluntarily left their first estate in heaven.

Fall of Man

We believe that Adam, as mankind’s federal head, fell when he disobeyed God’s command and plunged the entire human race into sin. There is no goodness in human nature.

Virgin Birth

We believe that Jesus of Nazareth was born of a virgin without the aid of any human man, but with the aid of the Holy Spirit. Jesus had the nature of man without sin, for He is God. He, Jesus is the God-Man, 100% man, and 100% God.

Salvation

We believe in salvation by grace and through faith for all who would believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We reject Calvinism and Reformed Theology, for God is not willing that any should perish.

Church

We believe that the church is the living organism, the very body of Christ and is God’s ordained living entity to accomplish his will on earth through its regenerated baptized membership. We believe in two ordinances of the body, baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. Neither ordinance is a means of grace or has anything to do with man’s salvation. We believe in baptism by immersion and are Baptist by name. We are independent Baptists that reject any hierarchal structure over the autonomous local assembly.

Eternal Life

We believe that the saved have eternal life at the moment of conversion and that they are assured an eternal home in heaven. We believe that all who do not believe in Jesus Christ by faith will by their own will and rejection of Christ’s work on the cross perish for eternity in a literal hell which will be cast into the Lake of Fire. The eternal life of the believer is a free gift from God and is irrevocable. We reject Arminianism and the belief that one loses salvation based on works. Salvation is secured by faith and is retained by faith. Works or the lack thereof does not change eternal life.

Last Days

We believe in the rapture of the church to heaven prior to the seven years of tribulation, the time of Jacob’s trouble or the time when God continues his work with his chosen people, the Jews. At the end of the seven years, Jesus Christ will return to the earth not just in the air as in the rapture but to the ground. After defeating the godless nations of the world, He will set up the 1000 year reign of peace for the Jew and the Gentile nations who have believed on Him. There will be those born during this time who do not accept Christ who will assemble with and follow Satan in rebellion who had previously been bound for the 1000 years. They will be defeated and cast into the Lake of Fire forever.

Missions

We believe in carrying out the Great Commission through personal witnessing of the great grace of God in our own lives, and also by sending faithful missionaries of like faith around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Tithing

We believe that the ministry of the local church without corporate hierarchy is to be financed by the tithes (10% of income) and offerings (above the tithe) of the membership.
